The Hardkorr Xplorer 2.3 Family inflatable camper offers an innovative and versatile solution for outdoor adventurers seeking comfort and ease of use. This camper trailer follows in the footsteps of the garage-friendly Xplorer 2.0 a.k.a. Shorty. Designed for families, the latest camper from the Aussie builder combines durability with convenience, making it an ideal choice for those who want a hassle-free experience while enjoying the great outdoors. Its inflatable design has portability and simplicity not typically seen in traditional camping setups.
Unlike conventional rooftop tents, the Xplorer 2.3 can be inflated in minutes using an included electric pump. This efficiency means more time spent enjoying your surroundings rather than struggling with complex setups. Once inflated, the camper’s robust frame provides a stable and secure environment, even in challenging weather conditions. The camper trailer is designed for durability, made from high-quality materials that are both puncture-resistant and UV-protected.

The design of the Xplorer features a spacious interior that comfortably accommodates up to four people. The layout includes separate sleeping areas, allowing for a peaceful night’s sleep and a clear space division. The main sleeping area offers ample room for two adults, with additional space for children, pets, or extra camping gear. For families, this flexible configuration ensures everyone has enough room to relax and unwind. The spacious rooftop tent (accessible via staircase) unfolds using an electric actuation system, and the integrated air compressor inflates the durable air beams to full size. While some manual steps are still required—such as unhooking latches, setting up ground supports, and positioning awning poles—the bulk of the effort is simplified with the press of a few buttons. It can be fully set up in under 10 minutes including steps like unhitching it from the tow vehicle, deploying the tent, 270-degree awning, and shower tent, as well as extending the kitchen components and setting the jacks.
Additional features include multiple storage options, including internal pockets and external gear loops. The camper also comes equipped with a built-in awning, providing shade and extra outdoor living space. This extension of the living area is perfect for dining, relaxing, or sheltering from the elements. The only thing missing compared to Shorty is the garage-friendly design, as it has a tall body at 2.3 meters that won’t for most garages. However, there are side cabinets to increase the overall storage capacity. On the left side of the trailer, you’ll find a spacious dual-gullwing kitchen setup, featuring a full-height pantry with adjustable shelving, a slide-out induction cooktop with two burners, a sink, and a fridge slide that accommodates fridge/freezers up to 115 liters in size. Both the fridge and stove/sink units come with worktops, providing ample space for preparing meals.
The Xplorer 2.3 Family is equipped by Hardkorr with 170 liters of water storage and a robust upgraded electrical system, featuring two 135-Ah lithium batteries and a 3,000-W inverter. The 4.5-meter (14.7-foot) trailer boasts an electro-coated aluminum exterior, securely mounted to a hot-dipped galvanized steel chassis. Its heavy-duty independent suspension, paired with dual large-bore gas shocks, supports the 16-inch alloy wheels fitted with mud-terrain tires, providing 50 cm (20 inches) of ground clearance beneath the water tank.
Additionally, Hardkorr includes two full-size spare tires at the rear. Weighing in at 3,310 lbs when empty, the Xplorer 2.3 has a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,850 lbs, providing a 1,540 lb payload capacity. Hardkorr is offering the new Xplorer 2.3 at a special preorder base price of AU$39,990, with the standard retail price set at AU$44,990. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in March.
